If you’ve ever thought Adam Scott runs a lot on Severanceyou’re not alone.
The 52-year-old actor reunited with his Parks and Recreation costar Amy Poehler on the Aug. 12 episode of her Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, and, while discussing the buzzy sci-fi thriller series, they both agreed that Scott gets quite a workout.
The topic came up as Scott admitted he gets “sad” rewatching Parks and Recreation because he “misses it” and “it was so much fun” being on that show, when Poehler chimes in with what she believes is the real reason he is nostalgic for the sitcom.
“Because you’re stuck in a f—— weird office, you’re running in a white hallway,” Poehler said of Severancereferring to the underground offices beneath the fictional company Lumon Industries. “And you don’t even know where you’re going. I mean, every hallway looks the same.”
“Too much running,” Scott agreed, adding that he “gets lost every day” on the set. “It’s exhausting and confusing.”

Scott plays Mark on Severancea role that has earned him two Emmy nominations to date.
Scott’s character is a former history professor who is now a severed worker for Lumon Industries.
The severance procedure separates one’s out-of-work self (his outie) from their in-work self (his innie). This ensures that the innie will have no memory of the outside world and will exist solely inside the walls of Lumon, while the outie will have no memories of the job once they leave and will exist solely in the outside world.
Poehler gushes about Scott’s performance on the series, telling him, “Get that Emmy speech ready, baby. Get that Emmy speech ready, honey.”

Scott and Poehler also discuss the season 2 finale that had the world talking.
“That was such a good ending,” the Saturday Night Live alum said of the edge-of-your-seat episode, which she admitted had her “shouting at the TV” in the final moments.
“You played it so well, and it was so exciting to watch that ending. It was so satisfying,” she continued.
Scott revealed that Poehler texted him “right after” watching the finale.
“You text pretty promptly after things, and it always means the most when you text me,” he said. “It really does.”
“For people listening, it’s the best feeling in the world,” Poehler chimed in. “[You watch] your favorite TV show, and then you get to text the person on it immediately and be like, ‘What the f—?!’”

The former costars also reflected on their experience playing husband and wife on Parks and Recreation.
“Do you remember we were texting just a couple months ago and just kind of commented on how nice they are?” Scott said of their characters, Ben Wyatt and Leslie Knope.
“They’re so nice. They’re so much nicer than us,” Poehler recounted, with Scott agreeing. “Every woman deserves a Ben. Every woman deserves a partner like Ben who roots for you and looks at you and is just like, ‘That’s my gal.’ Everyone deserves that kind of relationship.”
Scott added, “Looking back, it’s like they were just in love with each other immediately.”
Of their iconic characters, Poehler said the best thing about their relationship was that “they really rooted for each other” and “they respected each other.”
